Camisha Cordova

I am proud to support Damian because of his viewpoints on resolutions, and his passions. These passions come across when Damian speaks about family, economics, and diversity. It is evident when you meet Damian that no one works harder than him, and yet Damian still carries himself humbly. He is not arrogant like most politicians, instead he has a genuine demeanor, and within that demeanor he is also incredibly “tenacious” and an extraordinarily smart person.

Damian comes from a New Mexican family; he is not a career politician, and he knows right from wrong. Most importantly he has a vision that has resonated with me and others. I am supporting Damian because he is taking a local approach to important issues like health care, education, decriminalization of marijuana, environment, and voting.

Camisha Cordova is the Precinct Chair (386), DPNM SPARC, and a community organizer and activist. She strongly supports Marijuana Reform, Mental Health Reform, and all environmental issues (water, land grants, etc.). She is also concerned about Social, economic and human rights.

Kathleen Burke

The reason I am endorsing Damian Lara is I believe it is important to have representation from someone who has lived through the struggles many Americans experience. Damian came to the USA as a baby with his single mother and siblings. Once old enough, he worked alongside his family in the fields of eastern New Mexico.
Damian has never let down folks who have taken the chance to support him. Through that, he was able to graduate from Brown University with two degrees, and from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

Damian Lara wrote and explained legislation to our law makers as a staffer in DC, even earning the “Best Congressional Staffer” award in US Congress.

  1. He knows how to close loopholes and will never rely on lobbyists for his legislation.
  2. Damian owes nobody favors in DC for endorsements or for contact lists.
  3. Damian is the example of the American Dream due to progressive policy which has helped his family.

Kathleen is the Founding Chair and current Chair of the Bernalillo County Bernie Dems, who were responsible for the 2017 Progressive insurgency into the Bernalillo County Democratic Party, where they won over 170 seats on the Bernalillo County Central Committee and over 25 seats on the State Central Committee of the Democratic Party of New Mexico. Kathleen was an elected National Delegate for  Bernie Sanders to the 2016 Democratic National Convention and continues to provide Progressive leadership in her community; currently serving on the boards of the Southeast Albuquerque Community Policing Council and the La Mesa Community Improvement Association. Finally, Kathleen is Associate Director of Street Safe New Mexico, a not-for-profit organization committed to ending sex trafficking in New Mexico and providing resources to victims.

Kathy & Joe Duffy

It  really comes down to leadership. We know Damian is a true leader, who is  running for Congress for all the right reasons - to help us build a  better New Mexico.

And, it's not just words. He's put his  platform and his issues on his website since day one! And, he's been  clear about his solid plans. But, it's actions that speak louder than words.

Damian knows hard work. He woke up at  4:30 a.m. every morning as a college student on work-study, preparing  breakfast for his classmates at Brown University, to pay for his  college. He worked for the US Congress and the Congressional Hispanic  Caucus on issues affecting under-served communities. He was awarded  "Outstanding Congressional Staffer" for his work on writing legislation  to provide healthcare to under-served communities. He then worked for the NM Legislative Council Service, working  late into the night on many occasions writing legislation on tax  policy, budget bills, and infrastructure funding. And, he served as  Bernalillo County Deputy Assessor where he used his expertise on  property tax policy. And, now he serves as an Immigration Attorney and  Hispanic Rights Advocate.

Damian Lara served as President of the NM  Hispanic Bar Association, where he helped the organization raise funds  to provide scholarships to students and help Hispanic youth pursue their  education.

He's worked for every branch of government - local, state and national. He knows how to write legislation; He knows how to read legislation; and he knows how to work with others to get things done!

César Cuauhtémoc García Hernández

Having known Damian’s work ethic and work product for twenty years, I decided to support his candidacy from the moment I learned of his plans.  His statement in response to the Trump administration's decision to end DACA, however, reminded me of the need for more voices like those of Damian Lara in Congress.

I'm endorsing Damian Lara for Congress with the hope that you too will decide to support Damian's candidacy in spirit and dollars.

César Cuauhtémoc García Hernández is a Fulbright scholar, a tenured associate professor of law at the University of Denver, Of Counsel to García & García Attorneys at Law, P.L.L.C., author of Crimmigration Law, and was a scholar-in-residence at the University of California, Berkeley and Texas Southern University.  He received the Derrick A. Lucia, Rocio, Hilda and Sonia Ramos

We are proud to endorse Damian Lara for Congress because he understands our community. Damian also understands how to improve the economy, because he knows the federal income tax code inside-and-out. He is an expert in tax policy, specializing his career in it. From learning the intricacies of the tax code and policy in law school to applying it as lead staff attorney for the NM Legislature on the Tax & Revenue Stabilization Committee,

Damian is the only candidate in this race who can read a 3,000-page tax or budget bill and understand how it will impact our community. Damian knows how to reform the tax code to get our economy going again. We’re confident he’s the only one in this race who can do that! More importantly, we trust Damian’s leadership, knowledge and honesty to fight for the best interests of our community.

Originally from Durango, Durango, México, The Ramos Sisters – Lucia, Rocio, Hilda and Sonia – migrated to New Mexico in 1990. They grew up in the South Valley of Albuquerque and are the owners of Ramos Tax Services.

Tyler Massey

I worked closely with Damian Lara when I was the President of the NM Association of Counties in 2015-2016. I can tell you that Damian Lara is respected by county officials across the entire state because of his leadership and dedication to all New Mexicans.

Damian Lara earned a reputation for common sense solutions and making them happen. He is also a leader in the community. As the President of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association he worked on Law Camp, a statewide educational pipeline program for 7th and 8th graders. As a Deputy County Assessor, he lent his expertise to other officials across the state.

I’m endorsing Damian Lara because of his leadership in education and demonstrated ability to get things done for the people of New Mexico. Damian is uniquely situated in this campaign for Congress – he has worked at all levels of government, from local to state to federal. He gets things done. He knows how to work with others to get things done. And, he knows how to fight for what is right!
